A Cappella Improv Week Long Intensive at the Bristol Improv Theatre
Monday - Friday 10am-5pm. Learn how to create musicals without instruments or planning!
Acaprov, the 5* improvised a cappella musical is directed by award winning actor, singer and improviser Lisa Lynn (HOOPLA, MusicBox, Shuffle, Hell Yeah! The Show). Join Lisa for a week long intensive to learn Acaprov’s a cappella musical improv skills, bringing together Beat-Boxing, Rap, Body Percussion, Acting, Dance, Singing, Improv and heart.
Course outline:
Day 1: Musical improv 101 – learn or refresh yourself on the basics of musical improv
Day 2: Beginners A Cappella Improv
Day 3: Intermediate A Cappella Improv
Day 4: Narrative Musicals using A Cappella improv
Day 5: Putting together an A Cappella musical
Students who attend all 5 days of the course will be given the opportunity to perform an opening set at Acaprov’s show at the Bristol Improv Theatre on Friday 23rd August. As part of the course, they will create a bespoke set catered to the needs, strengths and delight of the students.

Condensing nearly a decade of Improv training into 2 days of improv.

Acting for Improvisers WEEKEND INTENSIVE
Award Winning Actor, Improviser and Teacher Lisa Lynn teaches a whole weekend of Acting for Improvisers.
Stage craft and Acting Technique.
Condensing 3 years of Drama School training into 2 days of improv.
Learn to utilise: levels; proxemics and mime skills (spacework) to story tell without saying anything. Learn safe vocal projection; annunciation; diction; inflection; accents and pace to completely control what your voice communicates when you do speak. Mix these with ways to control your physicality to create character; the correct names for the parts of the stage; and of the course number 1 rule of never turning your back on the audience - and you'll be improvising like a professional in no time!
This course will tell you everything you need to know to act like pro - and you never have to learn any lines!
